Wirksworth’s NEW Heritage Centre has undergone an amazing renovation, and following its Grand Opening on the 13th of April, will be open to the public from 9am-5pm!
Originally Webster’s shop on St John’s Street, Wirksworth’s Heritage Centre has been transformed into a specially fitted out attraction, which Wirksworth residents and visitors alike should definitely visit! Now available at the Centre are a host of attractions, which include:
Heritage rooms – telling the story of Wirksworth, with hands-on activities for people of all ages.
Webster’s café serving a selection of cakes, snacks and delicious home-made meals.
Wirksworth Heritage Centre’s shop selling a great range of gifts and locally made products.
The Heritage Centre’s events space, the Studio.
Wirksworth Heritage Centre is so much more than just a Heritage Centre!
The new museum brings to life the stories of this fascinating town, illustrating Wirksworth’s long history, the town’s quirky qualities, famous characters, industries and its long-established rural customs and celebrations.
The Heritage Centre’s monthly program of regular events and activities offers lots to do for visiting groups, children and families, including walks and talks, workshops and entertainment – check out their What’s On page for more information.
The Heritage Centre is open daily from 9am to 5pm, and Webster’s Cafe is also open every day (including Sunday) from 9am to 4.30pm.
