After a massive deluge of rain, images are flooding in of the damage caused around Derbyshire, including this COMPLETELY flooded road!

These images show the extent of flooding in Derbyshire due to the recent deluge of rain.

Our photographer Simon Deacon took the pictures on his way into work this morning.

A country road linking Swarkestone Bridge to Ingleby is among the worst affected roads.

He managed to get down the road in his Suzuki Vitara, but fears anyone in a smaller car would get stuck.

This June is shaping up to be one of the wettest in recent years and it seems like things are not getting any better.

The Met office has now issued a yellow weather warning for thunderstorms on Tuesday evening and Wednesday.

Truly unbelievable: the flooding has come quickly over the past days. Credit: Derbyshire Live

It said: “There is a small chance that homes and businesses could be flooded quickly, with damage to some buildings from floodwater, lightning strikes, hail or strong winds.

“Where flooding or lightning strikes occur, there is a chance of delays and some cancellations to train and bus services.”
