What could be more tranquil than relaxing in a heated rooftop pool overlooking the stunning Vale of Belvoir?
Luxury spa destination Ragdale Hall opened its own infinity pool last year.
The Leicestershire hub of tranquility has now scooped two more top accolades: it was voted the UK’s Best Destination Spa and has been awarded a prestigious ‘Certificate of Excellence’ by TripAdvisor, for the ninth year running.
There are pools for swimming, pools for exercising and then there are pools like this to soak up the view.
This amazing new infinity pool – the first in the East Midlands – melts into the landscape, taking relaxation to another level.
It might not overlook elephants in the Serengeti, the mountains in Hawaii or the glistening blue sea in the Seychelles, but it does offer one of the best views in the region of the Vale of Belvoir.
Spa-goers climb 30 steps to the Austrian designed pool, with coloured underwater lighting, on the rooftop of the stately Georgian hall.
At 12m long and 3.5m wide the pool isn’t big enough for a swim but infinity pools are all about the view. And being England, this one will change with the seasons.
At this time of year the nearby field is full of yellow rapeseed, the leaves are out on the trees and the sky is a dazzling blue with not a cloud in the sky. On a clear day you can see for miles.
Looking ahead to winter, it promises to be just as stunning with snow on the ground. And heated to 35 degrees, it doesn’t matter how chilly it is outside.
Bathers can recline on the underwater massage jet seating to take full advantage of the view, while the water pummels those aching back muscles.
