He’s moved to Normanton from Leeds
A Derby landlord says his new pub is the best in Derby.
Kelvin Garvey, the new landlord at the Loudon Arms, in Normanton said: “Most pubs in Derby don’t have what we’ve got.”
“Everything has been changed inside the whole pub. We’ve got Sky Sports, live music, DJs on a Friday and Saturday and Caribbean food on a Sunday.
“I’m appealing to everybody. People are coming from town just to come here. It’s the best pub in Derby.”
The 46-year-old, who has moved to Normanton from Leeds for the business venture, said he’s enjoying the area.
He said: “I’ve been getting to know the customers and I’m like a local now. There are lots of regulars.
“It’s very multicultural and I feel more at home here.”
Mr Garvey, who owns two pubs in Crewe, also claims to be selling the cheapest lager in the city.
He said: “Our Carlsberg and John Smith’s are £2.50 and our Carling is £2.80.”
“It’s the cheapest pint in Derby.”
He added: “We’re very busy at weekends and we’ve got lots of events coming up for Christmas, from December 24 into the New Year.”
The Loudon Arms is open from 11am – 11pm Monday to Wednesday and Sundays and 11am – 12pm Thursday to Saturday.
