New wheelchair access means students dreams of a playground is coming true!

When the lunch bell rings, most children can’t wait to rush off into the playground. Not all children, unfortunately.

Macie Boden, who has cerebral palsy, would absolutely love to be able to play with her friends in the playground. Currently thats sadly not possible because it’s not wheelchair accessible.

Macie’s parents have partnered up with Newhall Nursery and Infants School to turn Macie’s dream into a reality, thanks to an incredible £6,000 which has been fund-raised by Macie’s school and local community!

Macie can't wait to join her friends in playground games!

Plans are now being put into place to get started on building a new playground area in the summer holidays. Macie’s school and community raised the money with activities ranging from abseiling to raffles – what an amazing effort!

One of Macie’s reception classmates is even going to have her waist-length hair cut off to help raise funds!
