If you like gin, you’ll love this because we’ve got another beverage for you to try… in moderation of course!
After years of development between Peak Ales and Chatsworth, they’re both extremely proud to present their brand new Chatsworth Gin. They should be over the moon too, because we think it looks absolutely amazing!
Distilled at Peak Ales’ barn on the Chatsworth Estate the gin was created in their hand crafted still, made by German company Arnold Holstein.
The still took 7 whole months to arrive from order to delivery, and has been named ‘Isobel’, a family name of the directors, Rob & Debra Evans.
It uses botanicals from the Chatsworth Garden and Greenhouse including Lemon Verbena, Lemon Grass and the Imperial Lemon adding that natural freshness to the gin. Though the Imperial Lemons aren’t available all year round, regular lemons (still from the Chatsworth Greenhouse), are used otherwise, still providing a lovely tasting gin!
Most uniquely the leaves from the Cavendish banana, also from the Chatsworth Greenhouse, are used in this gin making it truly distinct.
We must also add, that the appearance of the bottle certainly looks luxurious and exactly what you’d expect of a high quality gin, that’s for sure!
The first six bottles from the very first batch went to Lord Burlington as he won these at the Derbyshire Charity Clay Shoot Auction in 2018, the 7th bottle was presented to the Duke & Duchess of Devonshire by Rob (Peak Ales), and Andre the Chatsworth Farm Shop manager.
According to Peak Ales, reception for this gin has been incredible so far and they’re aiming to have the website fully up and running, by early December, so you can purchase your bottles online. For more information on the Gin though click HERE.
The Chatsworth Gin will be available at Christmas Markets this year, including Fabulous Places in Derby (9th & 10th November) and Chatsworth Christmas Markets (starting 15th November until 3rd December).
Finally of course, it’ll be available at the Peak Ales Shop at their Visitor Centre, Chatsworth itself and many other local stockists, retailing at £39.
If you get in early at the Visitor Centre, they’ve got a 10% off deal in November for all purchases over £25, make sure you don’t miss out!
